لودسل یک مبدل است که نیرو را به یک خروجی قابل اندازه گیری تبدیل می کند. گرچه انواع مختلفی از لودسل ها وجود دارد، بیشتر از لودسل های بار مبتنی بر strain gage استفاده می شوند. بجز آزمایشگاه های خاصی که تعادل دقیق مکانیکی هنوز مورد استفاده قرار میگیرند. سلولهای باربری پنوماتیک گاهی اوقات مورد استفاده قرار می گیرند که در آن ایمنی و بهداشت ذاتی مورد نظر است و سلول های هیدرولیکی بار در نقاط دور افتاده در نظر گرفته می شوند، زیرا آنها نیازی به منبع تغذیه ندارند. سلول های بارگذاری فشار بار، از لحاظ مقیاس 0.03٪ تا 0.25٪ دقیق هستند و برای تقریبا تمام برنامه های کاربردی صنعتی مناسب هستند.
